A solitary Blackthorn Tree growing out of the limestone rock above Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales, with Ingleborough in the background.It was essential for me that the sun illuminated the trunk and branches of the tree, to highlight its many twists and turns.
The late evening golden sunlight broke through the shower storms to bath Ingleborough, and to bring out the rainbow.
There were 4 great stones on Burn Moor, but only the one remains, with both Ingleborough and Whernside mountains in the background

The tops of the limestone clints were limned in golden light as the shadows in the grykes deepened. This was a lovely summer's evening on the Ingleborough nature reserve, though the wind was bitter as can be the case in northern England!
